We’ve got to build positive school cultures if we want teachers to be able to thrive. If you’re looking to boost morale, promote well-being and increase motivation, here are some ideas you can use yourself, with your team or for the whole staff body.
I’m out to help teachers feel good and teach at their best. I believe that we can achieve this through four key areas:
Being purposeful - Having intent behind our actions and connecting with what’s important with us to stay motivated
Being in control - Focusing on what’s within our locus of control and building helpful habits into our daily routines
Being inspired - Being a learner at heart, open to new ways of doing things, taking opportunities to grow and keeping our teaching ‘fresh’
Knowing we’ve done enough - Valuing ourselves and fostering a school culture of positivity and celebration where we are all happy and proud to call ourselves teachers.
It’s a shame that ‘well-being’ initiatives and activities have a reputation for ‘missing the mark’ or feeling tokenistic because we have an undeniable need to see more of them in our schools. We’ve got to get the talk going, engage in authentic experiences and really build well-being into our school cultures so it’s a given - not a bonus.
I hope you find this resource helpful and that, at the very least, it sets the wheels in motion for building a community of happy and supportive teachers at your school. Together let’s make schools the positive environments they should be and make teaching the uplifting experience we all want it to be.
Go well, team! ☺

I’m all about teachers taking back control and creating the conditions where we can all thrive. Teaching is tough but together we have the capability to excel AND feel good doing it.

Count to 20 in style with this number wall display inspired by Burano, Venice! This is the perfect addition to your primary school classroom, giving you a taste of travel and creating a colourful display that students will love too!
This resource contains 3 sets of numbers 1-20, designed to be cut out, laminated and displayed. The first set were hand drawn by me - hope you like them! Just in case you’re after less ‘busy’ displays, I’ve also created a couple of simplified versions so you can still get your splash of colour without the extras! There are 2 numbers per A4 page (each letter is approx. A5 size).
My inspiration for this classroom display came from my whistle-stop trip to Burano, one of the islands north west of Venice. I instantly fell in love with the bright colours and how everything seemed so ‘in place’ despite the seemingly random placement of colours. Using my photos as the starting point, I came up with several colour schemes and sketched different housing designs to import into and edit on Illustrator. The colour scheme of this resource is bright pastels!
I’m going to continue designing classroom decor products inspired by my travels so keep your eyes peeled!
Enjoy!
